Congratulations! You survived the first week of 2017. If you made resolutions and already broke them, don't worry! They might not be for everyone, but it's always a good idea to make a change for the better. We believe in making several small changes to grow and improve, which is why we've made a list of ten tangible ways to better yourself in the new year. Here's to your best year yet!
It's easy to get overwhelmed with all of your new goals and plans. One way to simplify and create more productivity is to be intentional about what you plan on doing. When making your goals or resolutions, ask yourself "why" and "how" and then write down necessary steps to take to achieve them. Breaking your plans down into smaller pieces will make them feel more attainable and less daunting.
Having a plan makes everything so much easier. Make sure to leave room for flexibility and be prepared for things to change. Once you have a plan, you'll be able to get things done more efficiently; even if something goes wrong along the way.
The possibilities are endless depending on what you're interested in, but the important part is to broaden your horizons and become more well-rounded. The less inward-focused we are, the more we start paying attention to other people and the world around us. That's where true change begins.
Is there something in your community that you would like to see changed? Do something about it! You'd be surprised how much one person can make a difference. Stand up for what you believe in and take a step towards change.
All of the negativity in the news and media can start to bog you down. Try to focus more on the positive. This could include writing down an encouraging quote and putting it on your desk, going to lunch with an uplifting friend, or listening to your favorite song. There are plenty of ways to incorporate more happiness and light in your day, which will have an effect on everyone around you. Positivity is contagious, pass it on.
People often forget how good reading is for you. It opens up your perspectives, gets your mind off of stress, and improves your focus and concentration. With the amount of time we spend looking at screens, it's healthy to put your nose in a book now and then.
Challenging as it may be, waiting until the last minute is never good and only adds stress. PLANOLY helps with this aspect by allowing you to plan your Instagram and campaigns in advance. Every bit counts, and the more you can do ahead of time, the better off you'll be in the end.
It's true that most people spend the majority of their days indoors. We go to the office, drive around in the car, and mainly stay inside, but research shows that spending time outdoors will do wonders for your health. Take a midday walk, go for a run after work, or go on a hike on the weekend!
The world around us can get busy and overstimulating, which is why it's important to take a step back and appreciate the simple things. There are plenty of ways to do this. Turn off all of your electronics, grab a glass of wine, and sit on your patio. Take time to appreciate the people around you and write a kind text to your friend. Writing down everything you're thankful for is another great way to enjoy the small things. Expect less and enjoy life.
Putting these tips into effect will certainly help you have a better year, but the most important thing is to be comfortable in your skin. When you are confident, anything is possible. Trusting in yourself and your abilities is the best formula for success and happiness.
